Meet Some of Our
Distinguished Residents
At Neighborhood Cats Network (NCN), we’re not just feeding cats—we’re running tiny outdoor empires. Across our community, dozens of colonies thrive in places most humans barely notice: behind strip malls, tucked into quiet wooded corners, in business parks, and behind businesses where humans rarely wander. Thanks to our heroic volunteers, these cats get daily meals, cozy winterized shelters, and careful monitoring, but don’t expect snuggles. Most are fiercely independent, and have zero interest in
indoor life.
Each colony has its own vibe, reflected not just in the names we give them, but in the personalities of their residents. Some cats are divas, demanding attention (and snacks) on their own schedule. Others act as security guards, patrolling rooftops, parking lots, and alleyways with stern tail flicks and watchful eyes. Lazy loungers dominate the sunny spots, perfecting the art of napping. Mischief-makers plot minor chaos and surprise pounces, while philosophers sit quietly, contemplating life—or the next meal. Social butterflies tail-flick and communicate local gossip, keeping everyone in the know.
Some of our favorite colonies include The Whiskered Woodlands, Pinecone Paws Preserve, Maple Meadows Cats, Corporate Kitty Campus, Nine to Feline Plaza, and Meow Manor… and many more. Each is a little kingdom where cats are in charge, humans are tolerated, and snacks are mandatory.
All colonies operate with property-owner permission, letting us install secure feeding stations and winterized cat cabins. Every cat is spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, named, and monitored—basically, we handle the adulting so they can focus on running their domains and perfecting the art of looking majestic while ignoring you.
And now, we’re excited to introduce some of the cats themselves—feral, funny, and full of personality—so you can meet the true rulers of these little empires.
